Pepsi Zero Sugar

Diet pepsi Max was introduced in the US on 1st June 2007,Pepsi zero sugar was sold under the name Diet Pepsi Max until early 2009 "Diet" was dropped from the name in 2009. In 2016 PepsiCo rename Pepsi Max to Pepsi Zero Sugar.Pepsi zero is made with no added sugar and no calories meaning it's a great option for those watching their Sugar/Calories intake.

It originally contained nearly twice the caffeine of Pepsi's others cola beverages, before a recipe change in late 2022,Pepsi zero sugar contained 69 milligrams of caffeine per 355ml. In January 2023 PepsiCo reformulated pepsi zero sugar to reduce caffeine, remove ginseng and tweak the sweetener system.

The competitor of Pepsi Zero Sugar is a Coke Zero/Diet Coke. These products are essentially the same, especially in regards to their main selling point not containg sugar. Although these two difference are still unlikely to be significant to most people. while Pepsi zero sugar uses aspartame as it's sweetening agent where as Coke zero uses both aspartame and acesulfame potassium also called asa "AceK" or "acesulfame K".

I think that this latest reformulation is supposed to create a diet soda that taste like regular Pepsi and given new look too. But when it becomes normal it tastes badly. For me the old Pepsi zero sugar has smoother taste then the new version. I would not say that old zero sugar taste like a sugar soft drinks but it's an acceptable alternative. The new formula has an unfamiliar spiciness to it that I don't like much. If I drink once then I won't asked for another one. If you like sugar soft drinks then you are going to disappoint with it.
